About
Partnering with a doctor you trust – someone who knows you beyond your medical chart and is committed to making sure you feel cared for and supported – is at the heart of good medicine. It’s also the foundation of Dr. Ainsley McCowan’s approach to primary care.
Dr. McCowan believes that the best medical care begins with a strong, lasting relationship between doctor and patient. She takes the time to understand each patient as an individual – their health, priorities, and long-term goals – and provides thoughtful, personalized care throughout every stage of life. She is a strong advocate for her patients, helping them navigate complex medical decisions within an increasingly complicated healthcare system.
Dr. McCowan has cared for patients throughout Greater Boston for the past 10 years. Prior to joining Personalized Medical Care in 2023, she practiced primary care at Newton-Wellesley Medical Group. She considers it a true privilege to serve as a trusted partner in her patients’ care.
Outside of medicine, Dr. McCowan enjoys spending time with her husband and two children.
Education
Dr. McCowan is a graduate of Boston College and holds both a medical degree and a Master’s in Biomedical Sciences from Tufts University School of Medicine. She completed her residency at Rhode Island Hospital/Brown Alpert Medical School and is Board Certified in Internal Medicine.
